On Boxing day we joined what appeared to the the rest of Cornwall at this National Trust property for a walk

Fortunately once away from the tarmac we could have been the only ones there

The woodland walk skirts the creeks

The ferry entrance to the gardens is at the bottom but only open at weekends

The path offers only glimpses of the garden, which is becoming even better under the stewardship of John Lanyon

The King Harry ferry has to be one of the prettiest ferry crossings in cornwall

The house has only just been handed back to the NT and is now open, including the newly refurbished but sadly empty orangery

Then its time to try and trick the dog into washing itself off before heading home to mince pies etc :)

Did that dog walk the year before last, stayed in Pill Creek just around the corner. The view as you walk down the hill towards the beach out towards St Just and beyond is amongst the most amazing bucolic views anywhere in the uk - fantastic!! You can hardly see the water from the woodland paths in the summer. Just a cheek they charge you to use the car park for the walk!

WE get given a NT card for opening the garden for the NGS or I think we may think twice, but to be fair there was no little man over the holiday, and in case you make a return visit there is layby car parking outside of the estate with foot path access to all the walks
