Begonia Luxurians winter storage
I dug up and potted my Begonia luxurians at the weekend, for over-wintering in the conservatory. It is about a meter tall but quite leggy so it's flopping over. Should I remove some of its height for the winter to make it more sturdy for next season and if so, how much? Will it just shoot form a leaf axil in spring? Presumably I can use some of the material for cuttings.

No problem Simon, I have just cut the top off one of mine to get it into the greenhouse, its only 2m tall now, they shoot all up the canes throughout the winter slowly and really get going in the spring. You need at least two nodes to get the cuttings to strike in my experience, but apart from they they seem easy enough. Just damp on the watering they dont like being wet and will let you know if they are too dry.

Thanks Tony. I will give it a go this weekend. I think if I don't cut it back it will be all broken by spring any way, the way it is flopping around.
