Forum question

Post by charlie »

Doing any of you ever look in on the other three sections "The garden shed", "Meets/Events/Recommendations" and "Forum Development" ? they were originally conceived by Chris Grundy to avoid the main forum getting clogged up! But we have never been so busy as to consider this a problem

They aren't visible unless you are logged in.

I was about to ask where they were, but they do appear once logged in.

If I'm logged in I'm focused on posting a post.

So I don't see them.

Same as Chad for me. We had a recent influx of mass viewings as can be seen on the first page of threads with some viewings going into the tens of thousands rather than the usual couple of hundred. I was hoping that would lead to more people joining the group so we could view more gardens, but that didn’t seem to happen.

Never glance at them. If it makes the forum easier to look after I'd say get rid.

OK, thanks for that, I can see them as I am automatically logged on , although I confess most times I use the email link to check out posts. They are not causing me any hassle so I will leave them for now

Martin - I am not sure what caused that sudden surge, I had been getting a lot of fake sign up requests around that time, I have now changed the question folk have to answer which is supposed to weed out the Bots but its only going to take someone 4 trys to get past that!, I have now gone through the members list and removed those that have never re visited or posted (unless it was a name I knew from the past) and that seems to have stopped the problem.

Never gone outside the main forum page, as I don't log in unless I want to post something; so generally don't see those sections.

Used to look in on the outside bits from time to time, but it got lonely so haven't for a fair few months
