Can anyone ID this Camellia?

This lovely plant in my street always comes into flower in November and continues through winter giving colour at a time of otherwise quite bleak horticultural interest. Any ideas as to what it is? Clearly this is its flowering time rather than spring.






I’d quite like one for myself but haven’t seen any in local centres. Otherwise it might be a case of slipping out at night with my secateurs!

Given the time of year possibly a Camellia sasanqua, my C sasanqua "Narumigata" is flowering like mad at the moment.

Thank you Nigel. I didn't realise there were so many autumn/winter flowering camellias. I especially like Navajo! I might get one. The one I photographed has flowers with almost an anemone centre - almost like a white Brushfield's Yellow.

The leaves look rather robust for it to be a sasanqua, and they are autumn flowering, not going on all through the winter.

I think it might be C. 'Nobilissima' which starts about now, but keeps on going. It doesn't usually have such a full flush this early down here though.

Sniff it. Sasanqua have an unfortunate smell of cheap soap.

Thanks Chad. That looks just right and there are loads of buds for December and January. I think I’ll look into getting a couple of these early flowering ones so thanks to you and Nigel.

The other 'traditionally' formed one that starts flowering now is Camellia 'Takanini'.

The other species that are in flower now are good, but not from the same mold.

Thanks Chad. I'm definitely going to invest in some autumn flowering Camellias not having guessed there were so many. I have lots of spring flowerers but none for the autumn/winter and, unlike in my other garden, I have very little flower colour in this one at the moment. From Trehane, Navajo appears not to be in stock at the moment so went to order a similar one today from them and suddenly that's also now out of stock. Typical! Noblissima seems to be readily available. Thanks folks for the help and suggestions.
