Hoping you are all enjoying the sun as much as me ?! (think I may have been a Lizard in a former life)

Have discovered one or two fringe benefits over and above it being too hot to do any work so I can sit and drink beer.

1, The grass hasn't had to be cut for ages

2, weeds have stopped germinating so it gives the appearance we are in control

3, I fallen back in love with Palms and Bananas, they seem so much more sensible against a blue sky!!

Loving it - sort of! Me and my beloved took a walk down by the river in a local wildlife area and took picnic as it's fairly quite with just the occasional dog walker. Lovely spot behind a row of Hawthorn, lovely sun and rather great food (if I do say so myself). Suddenly she strips off and legs it for the river shouting "let's skinny dip"! Anyway, one thing led to another and afterwards we dozed off - Naked! When we awoke a while later we looked like a pair of lobsters :o

On the plus side, the lousy and cold spring and this recent warm dry weather is helping to control the Himalayan Balsam far better than any volunteer efforts have over the last few years. Zantedeshcia seedlings are popping up all over my garden. My mangos are germinating easily. Mackaya bella is looking better than it has for years. And I'm overun with tomatoes in June!

You can keep your ruddy sun, I don't like it and neither do my plants, my Spotty Dotty is lay prostrate on the floor as are some other perennials. They cant handle my sandy soil regardless of how much water you throw at them! I'm looking forward to some nice damp Welsh weather, It cant come soon enough for me. 8-)

But if it was all cold and wet we wouldn't have had the wonderful image of a bright pink Keith and missus! :lol:

I'm not used to a heavy soil so digging dry baked areas of the garden is hard work and I've mislaid my pickaxe. :(
One noticeable benefit of the dry weather is that there have been few signs of snail activity recently. :) Every cloud ....
