Yesterday was the day everything got evicted from its winter quarters, I can now gaze across the conservatory and tea room (I wonder how long that space will last  )
Looking rather fetching in the rain the Red Cantua, (I cant get the white to flower as well, the two pots stand together so I am not sure why?)

As fast as I empty the greenhouse there is something in the house that fills that space!
Your red Cantua is stunning!!

How big a pot does the Cantua need to be happy?
Mine has been in the tunnel all winter and is still in tight bud.
I'm having trouble with camera/computer for pictures at the moment but will try to show what I'm up to with 'the great spring move'.
The mantra for this is year is 'It must be planted in the soil'. Even if the soil is in the tunnel!
Chad.

The cantua is in a 7.5lt pot and to my shame has been there for the last 4 years without repotting!
If possible in the ground is the way to go, I can't believe the difference in my lapageria since they got planted out has been amazing

This is the space in the tunnel I can fill this year - so far just a 90L frog hotel and a Rojasianthe [planted yesterday].
It looks like a vast area to fill, but once things have their roots in the soil they get so much bigger than they ever managed in pots.
I had thought I only needed one side free to plant in the soil, but with not much planted out it filled up last year! This is 'the other side' today.
I need space in the conservatory to move seedlings on and until more stuff is out of pots and into the soil there is a 'log jam'.
