Bamboo Semiarundinaria yashadake 'Kimmei'

I have one of these sitting in a pot, could do with planting but opinions on the web seem vary on whether its a well behaved clumper or a rampant runner, is anyone growing it?

I don't mind Bamboos that run but I prefer to put them where I can get around them with a mattock!

I've grown this one for three or four years with a root barrier but it hasn't yet shown any signs of naughtiness. However, I have been rather disappointed with its performance as it looks very tatty after each winter and so far hasn't earned anything more than six out of ten for appearance.

It's a well behaved runner here :D

Takes a while to really get established and then it will wander but very easy to control . Takes a lot of pruning to get it looking spot on though.

Thanks for that both of you, so I shall try and pick a half decent spot for it to give it half a chance and keep an occasional eye it for expansion, Bamboo generally does OK here
