What garden jobs do you put off doing?

I have several jobs that I tend to not do in a timely fashion meaning they always end up being even bigger! one the big Laural hedge on our road boundary which always got left until I had to use loppers and a ladder, its a bit of a beast being as it starts 8 feet above the road level - I have got around this by off loading it onto sons shoulders (Liz said there would be a point to children!!)

The other job that really gets left is clearing the overenthusiastic growth from the pond plants, (this one I have been unable to persuade son!) left too long and there is no open water left. So yesterday I put on the waders and got stuck in, I am left wondering how there are any natural ponds anywhere as they seem to fill up with plant, roots and soil/mud - I mean where does that come from.

Anyway hopefully done for a few more years!

Stuff always builds up in ponds and thus the regular cleaning required. If left some become "ghost ponds" damp scrubby areas.
In fact in Norfolk there are people working to restore "ghost ponds" to increase biodiversity and also on farms to increase water storage for stock, irrigation and wildlife and cope with the more erratic climate that we now have.

Cutting back Hedychium that still haven't been browned by a frost.

They need to go to let light in to the snowdrops they are overshadowing.

But one good frost and I wouldn't need to do it.

I gave up and got soaked this afternoon doing it. 

Slight rain but very wet Hedychium.

Very few flowers on the underlying snowdrops though, possibly because I didn't give them light last year.

Since going to battery weed eater that's a chore that is now more doable. Corded tools are history...
Tree pruning is still put off...just never ends seems like.
