Echium wildpretii

Post by Phemie »

Seems to have survived the unseasonal weather and has grown even taller. Now the buds on the stem are visible so I'm hoping for a great show of colour.

Saw the skeletal remains of these on Tenerife this spring, now looking forward to seeing yours flower!

Looking at the wild plants it seemed that they like very sharp drainage, is that how you find it?

Yes, Charlie it is in a well drained spot with lots of gravel around the neck of the plant and is sheltered from the prevailing south westerlies.
