These are some photos this evening when I stopped in at my friend Jin’s garden here in Berkeley. It’s a garden oasis with a southeast Asian aesthetic. Lots of mature Dicksonia and Cyathea cooperi, Fatsia japonica, Queen Palms, Acre palmatum, Eriobotrya deflexa, Clivias, Heliconia schiedeana, bromeliads and Cymbidium orchids are in peak bloom. The purplish foliage plant with lavender flowers is Ageratum corymbosum from southern Mexico, and a great plant here because it keeps blooming into summer, something it won’t do in hotter summer gardens.
