How about this one.

Tropaeolum - but doesn't look like speciosum, which is the only red I know.

I think a hesitation on the species is probably in order.

It came to me as Tropaeolum smithii, but I doubt that ID.

I think it is more likely to be one of the many forms of T.moritzianum.

Is is perennial but not tuberous and seeds itself around in the tunnel too much.

I dare not try it outside unless, liberated, it turns into an ineradicable thug like T.ciliatum.

The last review of the whole genus was in 1991 [SPARRE, B & L. ANDERSSON (1991). A taxonomic revision of the Tropaeolaceae. Opera Botanica] and I haven't get tracked down a copy...

Surprisingly it took me four purchases to get this 'the real thing' .

What is it?

Its a fuchsia. They all look the same to me - any reason it isn't 'Mrs Popple'?

Re the tropaeolum, might you find a bit or some seeds by the time the Tregrehan plant fair comes along? I'll happily release it here, such a vibrant colour!

It is the venerable Mrs Popple and I was surprised it was so hard to track down. When I last grew it in the 1960's it was the market leader.

I'll sort something out if you are sure you want some of the Tropaeolum, though I'm less confident of Tregrehan/Tremenheere going ahead after Germany [family group] Venezuela [open air market] and England [Barbecue] have reported clusters based on outdoors events. I see Rare Plant Fairs are going ahead with timed tickets so they think it is possible.

Inevitably on looking over the plants today I can see no seed, and usually they are dripping with it!

This next one is supposed to be hardy, but so far it only did last winter which was frost free here.

Cuphea cyanea.

The second one is Buddleja lindleyana.

But the first one?

It looks like a Lonicera, but the only dark red one I know is L.tatarica 'Hack's Red'.

And it doesn't look 'right' for that.

It's from Charlie, so it is more likely to be a climber than a shrubby one.

Time to cheat and look at what he sells!

That simplifies it a bit.

Both correct, I must show you the Honeysuckle, its not so much the look of it but rather the feel it has velvety leaves and furry buds that look like tarantula spiders!
