PUSHING THE BORDERS

No takers this time? here is the whole plant as Chad rightly pointed out its Balm of Gilead or Cedronella canariensis which on Madeira they claim as an endemic its where I picked up the seeds and for me here this is an evergreen sub shrub which requires quite vigorous cutting back on a regular basis - it seems surprisingly tough considering its origins. I love the smell of this :)

Plectranthus ernstii, and I think that is the 'type' form as it was first described and goes under the cultivar name 'Oribi'.

Tell me to shut up if I am ruining the game!

:lol: I cut the flowers off because I thought that would be too easy, perhaps I should have cut it down to soil level before posting the picture. :)
I do find Plectranthus a fascinating genus of plants to grow with such a wide range of characteristics, the 'spur' flowers seem to be the only common denominator.

Well when I first looked I thought it was Lonicera but was not keen to display my ignorance! I certainly couldn't connect the leaves and flowers in any meaningful way :)

Quite right Charlie,

Lonicera crassifolia, seems to form a ground hugging mat rather wanting to climb anything.

Sadly unscented to my nose.

Now what next?

Just get to family and you are doing well, though again I would expect Charlie to get that far easily, he grows some of its relatives...

Extra kudos for genus and astonishment for species!

Worth guessing though!
