Plumerias.

Has anyone tried growing these?.I was idly looking around plant listings on the net and came across a UK nursery specialising in the sale of these wonderful looking flowers.Seed small plants,and larger plants at eye watering prices were on offer.
I knew them as Frangipani and raised some from seed very many years ago.Mine germinated but fizzled out after a couple of years.Probably due to overwatering.They never did flower.

Funny you should mention these, yesterday I was on the phone to a customer who after I had sorted her order out asked me if I also sold these (No!) I replied no as I thought they needed at least some heat through winter and as I don't heat my greenhouses they were likely to die. to which she said she grew half a dozen and was looking to increase her collection, she apparently keeps them over winter in her warm basement and lets them defoliate. I also didn't realise until recently that even on Madeira they shed their leaves in winter.

Happy to just admire them on holiday I think! :)
