PUSHING THE BORDERS

This is the first time I have ever seen Camellia 'St Ewe' flowering in November, normally get the first flowers on Christmas day It doesn't feel especially mild and we have had a couple of grass frosts.

I am Used to some things having a good Autumn and hanging on in there, indeed there are several things I would normally expect to have thrown in the towel still going strong, anyone else already getting next years flowers?

Nothing that can reset the clock but it probably means next year will be a bit weird too. :)

Lots of buds and a couple of flowers on a Clianthus puniceus last week.

The daffodil season has started.




'Rijnveld's Early Sensation' was about a month earlier than I expected.





'Cedric Morris' isn't really a daffodil - it is tiny- and it always flowers in late autumn.





and N. cantabricus is one of the late autumn hoop petticoat narcissus, flowering under cover.

Snowdrops everywhere of course, and there was a crocus in the meadow last week.
