Salix babylonica vs. sepulcralis Chrysocoma Difference

I see both
Salix babylonica
Salix × sepulcralis 'Chrysocoma' - labelled as Golden Weeping Willow

listed as Weeping Willow. RHS only has Salix babylonica relating to the contorted forms such as 'Tortuosa'

Can anyone enlighten me as to the difference please, unless its just a mis-naming issue. Seems to me that the American sites tend to refer to Weeping Willow as Salix babylonica so maybe that's an explanation?

But a UK Nursery that I am putting together an order for lists both of them, with Salix babylonica labelled as "Weeping Willow"

The 'definitive' answers are to be found in 'Bean on-line' [now called 'Trees and Shrubs online'] under Salix babylonica and Salix x sepulcralis.

I would not dare to add much to such an exalted and available authority except to note much UK stock is mislabelled.

Chad.
