Rarity here - so big thrill!!!

Post by islandcassie »

Now I can hear you all snickering so stop that now!!! We have pelargoniums growing here for the first time ever - they are so rare and a friend has grown seed from an American company and the seedlings haven't damped off. His are in flower but mine are slower - but scarily I now have to go away for a month and entrust these jewels to another to take care of them while I am away. I can't bear to think about what I will find when I get back! In the past I have tried cuttings and seed from England with no success. I can't understand why they are so difficult when you see them growing in Spain, by the sea, in full sun - yet here we have to grow them in shade. Go figure!
