Careful what you wish for ...

Post by JohnJearrard »

When I moved to this garden the wind howled over the hillside and I planted trees like a mad thing...

And the years roll by, the trees grow and I had started to notice how dark the garden was, and dank. I had started to wish fore a bit more light.

I have been enjoying the mild winter, and thinking I had almost made it through, but last night the wind hit.

This Leyland Cypress managed to fall without hitting anything - as far as I can tell, I haven't looked underneath yet.

A couple more trees down on the side of the hill.

And this Eucalyptus came down without hitting the mower shed. Not sure how I'm going to get the mower out but I think I should move it before I try to clear the tree.
Unfortunately the Eucalyptus on this side of the shed hit the one on the other side, which has gone down like a domino.

Five major trees down in all, didn't hit anything important so I have been lucky.

More storms promised before the weekend, so just to be clear, I am happy with the shade. Happy happy happy.

Pleased you escaped without much damage to anything else.

It has been windy enough in London so dread to think what it has been like at coast and for South West members.
