Campsis - Mme Galen

Mine is still looking dead, twig like - has anyone else growing this, and what state is it in?
I mean am I impatient... is it too early?

Mine are well in leaf, but its been such a funny year I wouldn't give up all hope yet! worth checking down low near the ground if its coming from low down but the stems appear dead then lack of heat to ripen wood last summer may be to blame.

My Parents one has just started to leaf up. I did tell them to hold on before digging it up and throwing it out :D

Mine has only just come into leaf - doubt we'll see any flowers from it this year though!

I pruned mine heavily back to one bud on each of the side shoots in February (as I do every year), buds started to swell up in late March and has been in leaf for roughly three to four weeks. This years flowering stems are starting to grow now so I am hoping for a good show.

Don't give up just yet though Steph, as Charlie mentioned sometimes they shoot from much lower down.

Its quite amazing just how late some plants are this year. I have an Albizia julibrissin which, although fully alive, only has green shoots/buds a few millimetres long. There has just been no continuous heat to encourage growth. Whilst it is not sited well for a plant that requires heat it is usually well into leaf by now.

I don't know about the exact temps, but my DAs did not defoliate and my Agave Parryi has thrown 3 pups growing in my gravel bed, ( I am excited) so it wasn't very low...

Naff all here except for vigorous growth. It started and then stalled during the cold spring snap here which may well explain it?
