Done it again, collected seed and not made a note of the name, can anyone work out from the picture of the seeds which palm this is likely to be? (It was on Tenerife)
I have just noticed a couple have germinated which I was n't expecting (bit pointless really as I wont't be able to grow it outside what every the answer!!)

Looks like fruiting Washingtonia Charlie. On the balance of probability, I suspect it is W. robusta since that seems to be the most widely planted of the two species on Tenerife and the fruits tend to be slightly smaller and more oval compared to those of W. filfera.

Given that I am normally fairly rubbish at germinating palm seeds except for Washingtonia you could be right!, well I used to have a nice one I grew from seed so may keep these going awhile and see what they turn into!
