Tulip sprengeri from seed?
A retiring nurseryman has gifted me a pot full of seed, before I go ahead and sow does anyone have hands on experience? So far my attempts to grow this have not gone well but having seen it at a plant sale we do I am determined to try again and thought seed may work better?

Re: Tulip sprengeri from seed?
I have a few under the trees at the top of the garden - seed sown in a 2l deep pot and the seedlings planted out in their second year. They flowered two years later. It would probably have been better to prick them out and grow them on for another year but who has the time and space?
For the last two years I have been scattering seed and crossing my fingers and I haven't seen any more flowers, but early days. As Chad will tell you, I tend not to notice them anyway lol.
