Miniature alstroemeria spp - anyone grow them?

I watched a presentation the other night about travelling 'Ruta 40' from the Bolivian border of Argentina down to the Magellan Strait. Fascinating. What particualrly piqued my curiosity was a miniature Alstroemeria patagonica - pretty little thing with huge yellow flowers. Summer dormant. it seems there are lots of similar spp dotted about S. America. Does anyone have any experience with these?
