I'll have to do something about the Darmera as it is invading the Hedychium 'Assam Orange' territory.

Dahlia coccinea is the only Dahlia I've grown that refuses to bulk up its tubers so for the last three years I've had just the one plant that produces no more than two stems per season. A bit of a head scratcher for me but I persist as I like both the flowers and its fine foliage.

The var. Palmeri form is a much more robust plant but I managed to loose that one winter 2011 and haven't gotten around to replacing it yet.

By the way Charlie, I think the Dahlia picture you put up on HTUK is Dahlia 'Jessica'. It's a stunner that I will be looking out for if it makes it to the trade around here.

Loving the Gingers Andy, mine were looking great but when I got out in the evening with the camera the hot windy day had played havoc with the flowers!

I like your pink Salvias Charlie. I spotted these at the OBG the weekend before last with no label. Are they S. involucrata or something else?

Salvia oxyphora.
I get the urge to snap a bit off when they're in bloom.

They are rather fun those Andy, never seen it in the flesh before.

Liking some of your Abutilon seedlings Keith, Lovely old stone walls as well, wish the mosses etc would regrow on mine they still look a bit raw.

Possibly the best description ever!!

Much as I tend to dislike pink, this is on the to get list. They're always well grown at OBG. Usually available from Dysons Nurseries (apart from the year that I remembered early enough to order them).

Charlie - as long as they stay upright they are lovely! I find the moss useful as well as attractive (annual baskets and rooting Fatsia are two uses).

Not the most exciting flowers in the Begonia world and I suspect will form something of a swansong as the plant reacts badly to even a whiff of frost but I grow new ones on to replace it each year as by this sort of timing it looks so imposing
