Not sure I would sacrifice my flower heads for a cut display as I only have the one pot full (never can get them to flower in the ground)

Hedychium 'Giant Yellow'. This one came from Andrew Gaunt at Chichester Gingers and first time flowering for me. Similar to H.gardnerianum but on steroids.

If you like Hedychium then a pilgrimage to West Sussex for Andrew's open day in September is well worth the effort.

Love the blue of those aconitums Keith, Andy I am pretty sure it was Andrew gaunt that helped me when I was importing the Lapageria a few years back, I only found out later he had the Hedychium collection. Our Johnjerrards collections not bad either! If you ever head down here at the right time of year

Other things;
Echinopsis subdenudata flowers last better at this time of year............


Hibiscus trionum were late starters this year (I forgot to sow them!)...............

I am pretty sure it was Andrew gaunt that helped me when I was importing the Lapageria a few years back, I only found out later he had the Hedychium collection.

I'm sure that he would have been able to help, he works for DEFRA I believe.
I've only seen JJ's Hedychium's on his website, it would be good to see them in the flesh.
