One you can do in sandals!

You start off in the town and head east

There is an attractive series of gardens at this side of town which we only went across the edge of but some interesting stuff

This looked useful! Young Michael Ben from the old forum has one his grandad used on Madeira in his garden

Heading off past the Playa jardin or the rather aptly named "garden beach"

I think one of my favourite things has to be the Aloes

The palms seem to love this coastal region

Lots of this double oxalis, the single is everywhere as a weed but this appears to suggest that the plants along this walk have been tarted up for us tourists!

Anyone know this? first picture is the flowers and the second the leaves, it was over a garden wall so is probably not native

There is a little cafe at the end while you wait for a bus back, all very civilized.

'Anyone know what this is? felt like Goose Grass'

Fagonia cretica

'Anyone know this? first picture is the flowers and the second the leaves, it was over a garden wall so is probably not native.'

You are having a laugh! Without scale, some description of habit and a picture of an open flower your only hope is that someone actually does 'know' it.

In medicine we call it an 'Aunt Sally'. A condition that you recognise because Aunt Sally had it, but is difficult to explain why you recognise it; it just is.

Chad.

I will try on the edge and see if anyone from the more tropical areas grows it, I was certainly left without a clue, but I do have a couple of seeds so would be good to know where it is on the impossibility scale :)
