Nobody seems to mention these much these days have they gone out of favour? I have only ever grown 3 largely because of the daily battle with slugs down here, these however are having a good year

I think braziliensis is just a short form of C indica

Canna virus maybe? I binned all mine four years ago and have just started again (from seed) now that I've moved house.

Fear of the virus has certainly stopped me introducing any new plants into the garden. The Canna braziliensis in your picture I grow from seed every year and know it as Canna limbata or perhaps more correctly, Canna indica var. limbata. Here it is in flower in front of Canna 'Australia' which is about to flower

The other Canna I grow stay in the ground and have been very slow to get started this year so I'll be luck if they flower at all, they are Canna ehmannii, Canna altensteinii and this one which flowered last year that I don't have a positive ID for?

I spoke too soon. Canna altensteinnii is now flowering

No canna for me here which is largely down to fear of the 'virus', I did have a huge clump of Canna altensteinnii courtesy of AndyC but 'that' winter and my complacency dealt with that :x
