Oriental Themed Garden Project

Thanks, I had discounted stone as I'm not wanting to try and create a Japanese garden (where stones with specific meanings are prominent) as I have never seen a "good example" of a Japanese garden outside Japan - and I certainly am not skilled to create one (nor rich enough to have one "just flown in" :D )

However, I need stone for steps, stepping stones over water, and perhaps the water-line of the pond (haven't thought how to achieve that as yet) ...

Not much stone lying around in Suffolk, I suspect that some bits of Granite would be best?, so not sure that I am likely to stumble over a job lot that someone wants to get shot of. I'll keep my eye open though, thanks.

Are there other stone uses that I should be thinking of?
